There’s nothing better than sipping lemonade during a hot summer day. Except maybe sipping your own homemade lemonade from scratch!
Its easier than you think, and you will feel refreshed and satisfied at the same time. What are we waiting for?
In this article I will show you the 5 simple steps to making delicious homemade lemonade.
Step 1 – Juice Your Lemons
You can do this a couple ways. You can use some good old elbow grease, and cut and squeeze the lemons. Use a spoon if you really love the pulp. Or you can use a citrus reamer like the one I have. Collect the freshly squeezed lemon juice into your pitcher.
Step 2 – Add Sugar
Add the sugar to the pitcher. You don’t have to use sugar, you can add any sweetener you like, be it honey, coconut sugar, or stevia.
Step 3 – Just Add Water
You have a couple of options here, you can fill the pitcher with water and move on to the next step or you can use my favorite homemade lemonade trick. I start with half my water boiling hot, and add it to the sugar in the pitcher, this dissolves the sugar almost instantly, saving time and effort. No one likes crunchy lemonade.
Optional:
If you would like to add some extra flavor, now would be the time (especially if the water is hot). I like to add fresh mint leaves or fresh lavender stems from my herb garden.
Step 4 – Stir
Stir up your mixture until the sugar is dissolved then add the remaining water.
Step 5 – Chill
Let your lemonade chill for a few hours in the fridge. Or if you’re impatient like me, add some ice and enjoy!
Enjoy delicious homemade lemonade in no time flat!
